Insulation is a coating of extruded polyethylene (thickness about 2-3.5 mm) on hard adhesive sublayer. Adhesive sublayer provides adhesion of the coating and steel pipe as external layer of polyethylene provides necessary mechanical strength. Only 3 per cent of the volume is hard stuff making a frame of walls and crossbars which provides the material with mechanical strength, guards layer of foamed polyurethane insulation from water, mechanical damage, prevents diffusion of polyurethane and provides high level of security. The rest 97 per cent of volume are pores. Close pores make 94 per cent. Foamed polyurethane insulation of tubes is a priority in pipe covering. Using of pipe covering of foamed polyurethane provides firm and effective heat and water isolation, reduces heat loss from real 25-30% to 2-3% and increases tubes’ life time from 8-15 years to 25-30 and more. |
